Dr. Adam Money, MD

After two years and two surgeries, Dr. Money went from a 5 to a 1. I felt there was poor communication with me. My patient portal messages were rarely answered. While understandable in the office, the single-sentence pre-op patient education provided me with minimal guidance post-op. A one-time episode of noncompliance during an office visit went from being appropriately corrected at the time to being labeled as being noncompliant in my permanent patient record. I was devastated to read that my “noncompliance” could result in my needing more extensive surgery. As an adult educator for 35 years, using this episode as a teachable moment would have left me feeling set up for success. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I’m left worrying about the negative impact of how future healthcare providers may treat me with a permanent derogatory label on my record. I find myself guarding my operative arm in an effort to avoid another surgery my surgeon places responsibility for on me. I’m left making limited post-op progress. I’m not feeling set-up for success. If I had it to do over, I would make a different decision about my second surgery.
