"Terrible bedside manner, and service. I was seen by Dr. Silveri for a total of 4 minutes. Due to a shoulder pain, I asked for care from Orthopedic and Sports in Inova. This doctor basically guessed what my problem was, and prescribed Methylpredisone to me. He ordered an X Ray, even though my problem was a nerve pain. I was basically asking follow up questions while his back was to me as he tried to run out of the room. Then he said after I asked, that I have nothing but some pre-arthritic condition. Dr. Christopher Silveri was more interested in getting out of the room than answering any questions I had, and became impatient when I tried to ask what the prognosis is. He did not have patients waiting for him as the waiting room was basically empty. What a hack. Don't trust these reviews on AETNA any longer. "

What is Sports Medicine?

Sports medicine is the specialty that promotes physical fitness and activity while managing, treating, and preventing injuries that happen during exercise or participation in sports. Sports medicine fosters wellness and fitness and works to inhibit injury. A sports medicine specialist may work with professional athletes, school sports teams, individuals who participate in sports on the weekend for fun, or someone who is just beginning to exercise for the first time. Although their main focus is on musculoskeletal function, sports medicine specialists also care for patients' full medical and nutritional needs as they relate to their active lifestyle.
