"My son saw this therapist today and ended up walking home angry. He has met with her twice and she told him that his partner was welcome to join them anytime. After visiting with my son twice, she felt this was a good idea? The partner came and it became a session about how many lies can his partner tell about him and how much the partner could play the victim. No accountability just spewing negative things about my son. The therapist was good about asking the partner after he/she spewed information from their perspective, How does that make you feel? Did she ever glance over and see that her client was struggling. This was suppose to be a safe place where both parties can talk, feel validated, and grow. This was about speaking smack about my son and the counselor never stopped to see how my son might feel or if my son had something to say. Where was the how can you both move forward? What are the next steps? After being repeatedly told you are awful, a screw-up, abusive and anything else that the partner could think to thrown at my son for close to an hour, he walked out. I wonder what this therapist thinks she accomplished today. Sending one home with all their grievances aired, while the other is so angry he left. Do you know what their home will be like tonight, tomorrow, or later? I will tell you, after walking home, he was locked out of the house. I received texts from his partner and the mother. Did the therapist ever check on her actual client? Her advice was to tell the partner to stay away from my son. No advice to my son on how to process any of this. I am very disappointed on how this was handled. She gave the profession a black eye from my son and my own perspective."
