General Practitioners - San Antonio, TX

"It's hard to rate Dr. Shannon because i only saw him twice the entire time i was with his practice. I saw the NP Mrs. Johnson. Overall she was knowledgeable and thorough. Did not like the fact that the Doctor requests a urine sample every time i went in for my clonazepam, i have never heard of a doctor requesting test each mo. I finally snapped that it was for the money another charge to insurance. I also told the dr that i took a certain medication that my psych originally prescribed and that would need refills as i had been getting from prior pcp. He flat said no. It's as if he didn't trust my word, which he could have verified through medicals records. It was a matter of his opinion of drug, not whether i needed it or not. A doctors personal opinion should not effect a patient's treatment. I was treated as if i was a common druggie off the street from that point on. Staff are moody depends on who is mad at whom as to how their attitude will be. The last visit i went to i had already decided to find another pcp i was tired of the inadequacy of his staff, having to keep on them just to get a referral from them, the lack of communication between nurse staff and patient. But the incident that happened on last visit is a prime example of the BS that goes on there. Stephanie is one of the asst in the back office. we joke around and she has shared with me some very personal and intimate details regarding her sex life not sure why but did anyway. She is the type to curse so no one can hear her and i was not in a very good mood that days so when i expressed to her how i felt about having to give two urine samples in two days she got smart a-- with me so i said she was acting like a little b-----. as i have told her many times before and she has said same to me but this time some one heard me didn't hear her but me and once the nurse treated me she handed me a paper stating i was no longer wanted as a patient and had 30 days to find another pcp due to what i said to her. It as a blessing because they are not at all professional. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. They are all about money and scamming insurances. They really don't like to be questioned either"
