"Had this appointment set up two weeks in advance the person who set up the appointment I told him why I was needing a new doctor I had mentioned my ADHD medication, and there was no issue. Once I got there during the intake I tell them my medications that I’m taking again no one said anything. It was until the doctor sat down and said “well I don’t do that” and when I asked him why he responded with “I just don’t” “I don’t treat ADD” (which is an outdated term). I don’t know if his refusal is based off of his personal beliefs but either way it’s messed up that no one mentioned it prior and messed up that he just doesn’t. I also found it weird that they asked for my sexual orientation on the paper, I’ve never had a doctor ask me for it before so I don’t know if this is common or allowed. "

"Added Dr. Lopez as my PCP when changing health insurance to CVS. Here's the pros and cons in my experience. Cons: 1) The main downside to his office is that it takes forever to get through on the phone; usually you'll be shunted to voicemail, where they take days to call you back. 2) Once at the office, expect to wait at least 45 minutes to be seen, even if you're on time. Alas this is pretty standard for medical professionals who see the public as delays 'snowball' throughout the day. To counteract this try and get in as early as possible. 3) Yes, you'll likely be seen by a nurse practitioner first, followed by a doctor. Outside a large HMO this seems to be the SOP for places now. The nurse practitioner I saw was competent but overly aggressive in prescribing things I didn't want and I had to say 'no' a lot. Pros: 1) The office staff is very nice; they're overburdened and yeah, seem to be a bit lackluster when it comes to speed. But they won't be rude to you at least. 2) Dr. Lopez is a great guy, willing to listen and is quite knowledgeable about his patient's concerns. So, average it out and I give it 3 stars. I don't go to the doctor more than once per year and supplement my prescriptions with remote medical services like MDanywhere. If this sounds like you, the Lopez is your guy."
