Family Medicine practitioners - Plano, TX

"I can't really comment on her bedside manner, because despite visiting her office twice this calendar year, I haven't seen her yet. Her PA is an idiot, hence the less-than-ideal reviews. I had been seeing NB for a LONG time, 20+ years. Changes in health insurance kept be from being able to afford to see her (had to go with plan covered PCPs), so I was excited at the chance of having her as my PCP again with the new insurance plan I started this year. I've visited her office twice, so far, and haven't even been able to tell if she was actually IN the office. She has a PA who, several years ago, ignored my horrendous cough, only prescribing a general antibiotic as opposed to the Z-Pac I told her I needed, which resulted in me coughing so hard, 2 days later, that I blew a blood vessel in my eye. The effects of that remain to this day. During my visit on Monday, her PA prescribed a blood pressure medicine that she would know, if she'd read the description on the company web-site, has an unpredictable effect on blood sugar management in Type 1 diabetics. Her PA is an idiot (sorry... being redundant, but it's worth repeating), and both condescending and dismissive in the way she interacted with me. So, while I always DID like Dr Babian, I can't say I like the way she provides her services these days. Her practice seems to be more centered around doing improvements to her patients appearances (based on the promotional stuff in her waiting room) than it does actually providing medical treatment. Just basing that on what I see being offered in her office waiting and exam rooms. I arrived for my 8:30 appointment at about 10 minutes after... still ended up sitting in her waiting room until about 8:50. She did blood work at my first visit, but tested me for things like Hepetitis and other things I don't remember signing off on. I mean... I've been mutually exclusive with the same woman for about 10 years now. I don't think Hep A, B, or C would be in consideration. Meanwhile... I'm left with a $140 bill AFTER my insurance company got done with it all. Not the kind of "surprise" I like. I think she just runs tests and cat-scans (initiated by her PA at my first meeting) to ring up her billables... but you can't hold that against any doctor these days, I guess. It's how they make their money. All this said... I can't recommend Dr Babian for "Internist" type things, you'll never see her, and her PA is dangerous."
