Primary Care Doctors - Frisco, TX

"Today was my first visit to Modera Clinic and the office is beautiful, very modern. They offer free wifi and refreshments. The receptionist was very friendly. When I called to make the appointment on Monday they were going to be able to schedule me THAT day but I chose to come in on Wednesday due to work scheduling. I was greeted by Dr.Santiago's nurse promptly at 9am. I was very impressed that he didn't take me back to the room then leave me in there for an hour like my previous doctors office. He was very friendly and thorough. Dr.Santiago is adorable! She's a tiny little thing but has a big presence when in the exam room. She was patient, kind and listened. I never felt rushed and she made sure to discuss all my concerns. Once we were done she did a recap of what our next visit will consist of and sent me on my way. I HIGHLY recommend giving Dr. Santiago a call."

"I want to start out by saying that Dr. Pepperell was my doctor for nine years, but until this summer, I saw him once or maybe twice a year if I got a cold or sinus infection. His staff was never very friendly, and I always waited a minimum of 15 minutes, but he was pleasant and the office was very convenient. At the beginning of July, I got a high fever that would not break with Tylenol or Advil, extreme nausea and a violent cough. It started on a Friday night and I didn't feel like I needed to go to the hospital so I waited until Monday to see Dr. Pepperell. At this point, my breathing was very shallow and my cough was constant. I was told that I had a lower respiratory infection and sent home with some medicine for the nausea and an antibiotic. By the next morning, my breathing and coughing were even worse and my high fever still had not broken. I went back to Dr. Pepperell, who then decided I had a bad case of bronchitis. He added a steroid and cough syrup to my medications and sent me home. When I called the next morning with no improvement, the office sent me for an X-ray and I was diagnosed with pneumonia, which changed my course of medications. For the next four weeks, I visited his office numerous times, with limited improvement - my fever went away after two weeks, but I continued to not be able to take deep breaths and have a violent cough. I was only able to sleep a few hours at a time and would wake up choking and coughing. His staff, who had always been a little unfriendly, became far more unpleasant with numerous visits. At one point when I called panicked because I was extremely dizzy and my breathing was very shallow and spoke with his office administrator, Andrew, I was told that I could not speak to the nurse or doctor and should leave a voicemail for the nurse. Although I called first thing in the morning, I finally called back at three. At that point, I was told the doctor was gone for the day and with my symptoms I should probably go to urgent care. At four weeks, when I still was not improving, I went for another follow up visit on a Friday morning. My oxygen was very low and my breathing test results were worse than they had been two weeks prior. Dr. Pepperell sent me for another X-Ray letting me know he was concerned with my slow recovery and said that I might have an abscess which would require hospitalization. He said that he would call me that afternoon to discuss next steps. He never called that afternoon or over the weekend. On Monday, I had to call them. I left another message with the nurse at 7:30 am, and then called AGAIN when they had not called me back by 11. My doctor was not in, but I was told by the nurse that while the pneumonia was still present in my lungs, it was improving. My final visit with Dr. Pepperell was the following day. When he saw me that day, my breathing was as shallow as it had been in the previous weeks and I would have coughing fits that went on for minutes. He told me that pneumonia can take a while to heal from and he wanted to take another x-Ray that Thursday. Finally, that Friday when I still had not improved and could not imagine spending another weekend unable to breathe, I decided to seek a second opinion. I had to let Dr. Pepperell's office know, because I wanted to share my files. I explained that I wasn't switching doctors, but just wanted to see if someone else might have another plan that would help me. My second opinion doctor put me on a different course of antibiotics, as well as solid bed rest (I had been at home but was moving around the house and doing some work from home) until the following Tuesday. His entire staff was caring, he saw me on time, and he was as concerned as I was about my shallow breathing, which he said we needed to take seriously and fix because when you cannot fill your lungs with air for extended periods of time, the scarring is more severe. By Saturday afternoon, the violent coughing was gone, and I could take deep breaths. During my follow up visit the following Tuesday with my second opinion doctor, I decided to switch to his practice and filled out the paperwork at his office to have my records transferred. I was shocked when I received a certified letter from Dr. Pepperell two days later basically firing me as a patient. His letter explained that he no longer wished to be my physician but would see me on an emergency basis for the next 30 days. I could not believe the level of arrogance and pettiness it took for him to write this letter - either in response to my getting a second opinion, or due to my decision to change doctors. I am so glad that I made the decision that I did, and would emphatically caution anyone thinking of becoming a patient of Hillcrest Physicians. I had a textbook case of pneumonia that he failed to diagnose in the first two visits and his arrogance prevented him from changing courses when I wasn't getting better. Stay away from this practice. There are much better doctors in Frisco."

"Very RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL WITH MY HUSBAND.. NO SYMPATHY FOR PATIENTS, SPOKE LOUD AND HER ATTITUDE WAS AWEFUL!!!! No one Deserves to be TALKED DOWN TOO.. GET HER OUT OF THIS HOSPITAL, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! "

"office and appointment set for 6300 Stonewood Dr STE 200, Plano, TX 75024 He is not at this address, he is at 2840 Legacy in Frisco Texas, 30 minutes away. The requirements of filling out all the required is impossible. I did it on line and then in the Doctors office on the tablet, all the same information. The tablet quit working and there was no one to talk with other than the receptionist for the other doctors office that they share the same office space with. The people in al were not helpful and rude. I canceled my appointment then and there and left "

"I have been to his office several times. All times but the last, he was knowledgeable of how to address my health concerns. However, I decided to discontinue my healthcare at his office because the doctor treated my stitches improperly which caused my lesion to burst and heal as a wider scar than I had initially. "
