Obstetricians and Gynecologists - Harrisburg, PA

"Doctor and I agreed on a procedure. When she said she found out the insurance would not cover it, she changed the outpatient procedure to one I did not agree to and did not want (would not be suitable) and sent me the permission forms without discussing it with me. I had to cancel everything. I found this unacceptable and consulted another practice where I have not had these frustrations. At that point I also discovered that the ultrasound performed at this location was useless and I had to have it done over. This entire medical group seems incompetant. Also, the front office staff is extremely slow and inefficient at resolving any issues. I reported this problem to my insurance provider as well. "

"I am (or soon to be was) a patient of Dr. Hank for a few years. I went in to confirm pregnancy on April 3rd. I saw a wonderful NP - Taasha G. She was fantastic. She confirmed that not only was a pregnant but having twins at the age of 41! I instantly became a high risk pregnancy. How scary to be a first time parent with two at that age and be labeled high risk. Taasha was wonderful. I then saw NP Lisa Leitzell. First contact with her, I was not sure I would like her but as I continued to see her I loved her. She is straight forward, practical, and honest which was exactly what I wanted and needed. She always gave me an honest and upfront opinion. Then there was Dr. Hank and his wife. My first appointment with him was sometime mid-pregnancy. They put me in the ultrasound room and over an hour later, during my lunch hour at work, he was still no where to be found. After an hour and 30 minutes in the office, I walked out of the room to find him chatting with his office staff. When I asked how much longer it would be, I got a rude response from the medical assistant and then about 10 minutes later he strolled in talking about being busy with hospital calls. I only saw a doctor in the practice 4 times during my whole pregnancy though I was told I should be seeing them more often. The office staff never seemed to care and scheduled me with whomever. When I saw Dr. Bev, she was rude and judgmental when I asked about my concerns about natural childbirth vs. C-section due to a lumbar fusion I had 3 years prior. In the end my babies didn't cooperate and I was required to have a C-section. When I tried to schedule with Dr. Hank because he was my original obgyn, I was told he was not available. When I tried to explain to him that I was uncomfortable having his wife perform my C-section, he brushed me off. I had to have Dr. Peisner at Maternal Fetal Medicine intervene to get properly scheduled. Then ultimately I had an emergency C-section with Dr. Hank. At my first check up afterward, while my mother sat alone with my babies in the car, he made me wait over 2 hours to be seen. When he strolled in and asked where the babies where. I stated in the cold car with my mother for over 2 hours now. His only response was, is it cold outside? I had to refrain from saying it's November you twit. So if you don't mind seeing the NPs in the office, this is a decent practice but if you need to or want to see a doctor, good luck! The bedside manner of Dr. Bev just stinks and Dr. Hank is always behind or unavailable. I wouldn't recommend either of them to anyone I care about. "
