Obstetricians and Gynecologists - Little Silver, NJ

"This review is not as reflective of Dr. Hammond as it is of the practice. In my 30+ years of going to a gynecologist, this is, by far, the least patient centric practice I have ever experienced. First of all, their staff does not call you back. Secondly, and most importantly, there is basically a window of 2 days within which you can obtain an appointment for the next two-month period. What I mean by this is that they "publish" their Doctor's schedules once a month, and because they have taken too many patients, if you do not call for an appointment within the first few days of a schedule being published, you have to wait until the next month to "try again". I am not making this up; this is literally what their staff has told me. When I mentioned how challenging it was to schedule appointments with the doctor at my last visit, she said, "well that's because there are so few gynecologists in practice." Noooo, that's because your practice is greedy and has taken too many patients. This scheduling approach may work for non-working women, or for those who have personal assistants, but for those of us who actually have to work for a living and do not have the luxury of scheduling time to schedule doctor's appointments, I find this approach disturbing. I am honestly also issuing a complaint directly to my insurance provider because I was supposed to have an appointment today and when I got there was told - nope we have nothing on schedule. When they looked at my record, the receptionist said, "I can see a note that this was re-scheduled. . . to nothing." I then asked if I could get a prescription for a mammogram, as I am overdue, since it is so hard to schedule an appointment with this doctor, and was told, in order to get a prescription, you need to have at least a breast check. I find this incongruent with the fact that the radiology department of their practice reached out to me to schedule a mammogram before my scheduled appointment, because my provider wanted that, when I, in fact, had not had a breast check, nor a prescription for one, since she had not seen me since December of 2022. So clearly, when they want to make money off you and your insurance company, this "rule" does not apply. But when you request a prescription to use elsewhere, it does. "
