"my experience with dr borezenstein was the most discouraging and frustrating experience I’ve ever had with a provider. I have done a lot of research on Hashimoto hypothyroidism and learned that it is an autoimmune disorder which in most cases is set off by something whether it be food or stress or alcohol, etc. I am well educated in how to properly research to find legit studies and research. I’m familiar with scientific white papers and I read many. I told dr B that I want to heal and not just be treated with medicine. she shook her head immediately and told me that it is not possible. I asked her if we could test for adrenal fatigue and she said that would have nothing to do with this and it’s not connected. Its part of the endocrine system - she’s an endocrinologist! I explained the bad lifestyle choices I made which I believe led me to get sick and she said that diet and lifestyle choices have nothing to do with me getting sick and most of the time it’s genetic. I explained that I like to take a more natural holistic nutritional approach to healing and she dismissed my sound research as “uncreditable sources”. I explained that my goal is to eat whole foods, exercise, refrain from alcohol and lower my stress levels to decrease the autoimmune reaction my body is having. She cut me off repeatedly and dismissed all of that as being irrelevant to my condition. I tried to explain my background to explain what was happening when I got sick and she was completely uninterested. All she wanted to discuss was my medication. I explained that I didn’t just want to be treated, I want to heal - regardless of whether or not I have to take medicine for the rest of my life I still want to feel better and have more energy. I think it’s common knowledge that if every day I eat McDonald’s, drink alcohol, don’t exercise and have extreme amounts of stress that I’m not going to be healthy. My experience with this doctor has me shaking as I type because I was treated as if I have no idea what I’m talking about and that all the research I did over the past year while I was pregnant was worthless. I’ve spent days upon days delving into books and white papers and any legit research I could get my hands on. Just paying attention to her one comment that the adrenal glands have nothing to do with the thyroid - I believe Dr. b got her diploma and collects her paycheck. I have an autoimmune disorder which attacks my thyroid and all she wanted to do was adjust my medicine instead of helping me to test for adrenal fatigue and antibodies to see what the cause could be for the autoimmune response and if the positive life choices I’ve made are helping decrease the response "
