"I have been going to Dr. Leonhardt for, going on 8 years now, and he has always been nothing but kind, considerate, understanding, and helpful. He truly listens to his patients, no he does more than that, he gets to know them, this man invests a substantial amount of his heart, mind, and time, to getting to really know his patients. He has Hundreds of patients, all with very complex lives, and yet every time he sits down to speak with me, he ask about my son, my daughter, how they are doing, how my wife is doing, and then me. You can tell he got into this profession with his only intent being to HELP PEOPLE to help themselves, and better their lives. Anyone that might possible have anything, even remotely, negative to say about him as a doctor, has to be someone who isn't willing to make the changes that THEY need, and have to, in order to better their own lives and in turn; are simply displacing blame, from themselves towards their doctor, in an ironically self-destructive, and futile, attempt to excuse their own lack of willpower and determination. Yes, he is strict. Yes, he WILL hold you accountable. NO! he will NOT put up with lies and decent in an attempt to pull the wool over his eyes (because this is a man who has heard it all, he knows all the excuses, all the justifications, all the signs of someone who is not ready to change and better their lives and he WILL call you out on it, BUT this is all only in hopes of helping his patients discover their true potential, and get the sobriety and/or hold on their mental illness/illnesses that they are longing for and need.) If you are tired of living the way you have been, if you've lost all of your family, all your friends, maybe you've even lost your children, your job, your home... if you've effectively "lost it all" and are feeling "you have nothing left to lose".... please... I'm begging you... don't give up, you are not the only one, and their IS help, and there ARE people that care, and I PROMISE you... Dr. Leonhardt and his staff at Port Human Services are those people that care. It won't be easy, you WILL have to work hard, even harder than you worked to get the drugs that brought you to this point, BUT if you want a good honest fighting chance at TRUE recovery... go see Dr. Leonhardt... do it for your kids, for your family, and most importantly DO IT FOR YOURSELF. I am, living, breathing, proof that if you meet with Dr. Leonhardt with the determined mind set of getting clean, staying sober, and getting ahold and control of your mental illness/illnesses at all cost, than he will bend over backwards to see to it that you have all the tools and resources to do so.
