"I had a video call with this provider. I had scheduled this appoint meant a couple hours beforehand through their scheduling office as my regular appointment couldn’t do a video visit and I just needed referrals. Because of this when she was late to the appointment I paid it no mind, but the entirety of the appointment was extremely unprofessional. I had told her I was having a lot troubles contacting and scheduling appointments with a therapist through my insurance’s website. She would constantly cut me off while I was talking to tell me I didn’t need a referral. She told me I can contact my insurance’s PPO to try to schedule one. I told her I understood but asked her to clarify if a referral can’t or won’t be done since I don’t need it. She shrugged me off and told me she would still do it but the referral office will tell me the same thing. She told she can give me a list of providers and I told her that is ok since I can get that through my insurance. I then asked her again if the referral office can’t or won’t do it as in my experience with every referral I’ve gotten I was always called by the place to set up an appointment and it made the process faster. Of course she kept cutting me off and I told her I was just frustrated I scheduled the appointment and paid a co pay for no reason and she told me I’m not understanding her and disconnected the call. If the referral can’t be done just say that, if it can just do it. Don’t cut your patients off and end the calls when they had to pay for that appointment."
