Obstetricians and Gynecologists - Mount Pleasant, MI

"Let me be the first to say that I am not a doctor person. I am very anxious and nervous in any type off medical setting. I am a very conservative person and if you understand that then you can understand the nervousness that would come with being in a gynecologist office. However my experinece at Womens Medical Center was so great. This was the first time I have ever been to a gyncologist office so I was extremely anxious and didn’t know what to expect. With that said, by far the best experience I have ever had in a doctor office and with a doctor. I see Dr. O’Dell and I couldn’t be more impressed with her. She has exceeded excellence at every appointment I have had thus far with her. She is great at putting you at ease. She will explain exactly what is going to go down and makes sure you know that your voice is heard. She has this very calm and caring demeanor. Extremely gentle, understanding, and LISTENS. I cannot stress that enough, she listens and she takes the time to listen. That right there deserves 100 stars. It seems like it is nonexistent to find a doctor these days who is going to give you the time you need with them one on one. Dr. O’Dell does this. She is extremely competent and knowledgable in her area of expertise and beyond. She explains things very well and puts them into terms that are very easy to understand if you are not familiar with the terminology. There are many things that I love about Dr. O’Dell, but one inparticular is that she is real. I love that I feel like I am gaining a relationship with another real human being. I have never felt like that when talking to a doctor. I always feel inferior and rushed. I always feel as if most doctors do not care to get to know me or they do not have the time to. But that isn’t the case here. I do not feel like I am just another number. And that is hugely important to me. I am the type of person who needs the personable experience and connection to open up and trust the person who is caring for me. Dr. O’Dell nails this. She truly wants to make that personal connection to get to know her patients. She is doing everything right in my opinion and I am extremely grateful to have found such a great doctor. She is the type of doctor that I want in my corner. One that I feel I can turn to and discuss sensitive stuff with and actually get some where towards solving the issues. She has been very helpful at approaching the issues I need help with. Dr. O’Dell is compassionate and shows that to her patients. She is very relatable and easy to talk to. I truly feel like I am in very good hands under the care of Dr. O’Dell. I wish she was my everything Doctor (I am sure this is not the first time someone has said those words). You just do not come across the good ones often and she is a good one. In regards to the office, this office makes me feel welcomed. It feels very close knit. Very tailored to your individual needs. I like how it has this warm neighborly love that you feel from the staff and doctors. The nurses I have seen have also been very competent in their duties. They are always very kind and respectful. Any time I call I am greeted with a kind voice on the other end. I have talked with the nurse over phone and did not have any issues with ordering labs she was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting labs sent out for me. Any labs that need to be ordered are ordered in a timely manner. As soon as my results come in I hear back from them. I want to give a special shout out to Medical Receptionist Krysta Brubaker. Krysta has been an amazing help for me. She is incredibly kind, caring, and compassionate. She makes it very clear that I can ask any questions I may need to ask. She is great at answering any and all of my questions and seeks out the Doctor to double check on questions she may be unsure of. She is also very great at putting my mind at ease when I am stressing about particular things. She has been awesome with scheduling me for my appointments. It is always a very easy process. She is a true blessing and is great at making patients feel welcomed and cared for. I can’t thank these wonderful women enough for just being so kind to me. This office just makes things easy and I like easy when it comes to stressful things. So if you are looking for a excellent OBGYN doctor/office look no further. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this Practice from the experince I have had there. They are doing a very excellent job at their jobs. They are nailing it. So keep doing great guys. Your hard work isn't going unseen. You are very much appreciated by this redhead."

"Dr. Moosavi was my first gynecologist and the first appointment I had with her was cold and dismissive, but I've always heard that gynecology exams are uncomfortable so I accepted this as the norm. As I was dressing to leave my appointment, I noticed she left patient records up on her screen. I lived in a small town and recognized names of friends or people I knew on the screen. I dressed quickly and left. A couple years later I developed a bartholin cyst that became infected during the first part of the 2020 quarantine. Her office diagnosed me over the phone and refused to see me in person. She prescribed antibiotics and no pain relief. The cyst ruptured at home and appeared to clear up. When her office was accepting patients, I scheduled an appointment because the area was bruised and still swollen. I was concerned it would become infected and rupture again. She barely looked at me and then gave me a 15 minute lecture on safe BDSM practices. When I explained I had safe, non-aggressive, and consensual sex with a partner recently she shamed me from having pre-martial sex and gave me a lecture on how she doesn't get "hook up culture" and I need to be careful. After leaving that appointment, a couple months later the bruise developed into a blood blister which once again, ruptured painfully at home. I've since moved out of state and found a new gynecologist who is monitoring the cyst because it is still a problem even without me having sex since my last visit to Dr. Moossavi. My new doctor gave me information on what caused it, what causes it to get infected, how I can monitor its health, and my options for removal. None of which Dr. Moossavi did. I've had several friends who also had her as a doctor because in the small town we lived in, physicians were limited. If she is the most convenient option, I advise you to look outside of the area. She should not be in practice anymore."
