"I went to Dr. Shagets to see if there was anything wrong with me that would be causing me to snore. I didn't have to wait too long. He was in the office with me about 10 or 15 minutes, maybe. He looked in my sinuses with a little lighted tube, then ran a tube up my nose until it reached my throat and told me there wasn't anything he could see, and that if I was worried about it, I could go have a sleep study done. When I got the bill, it was $225.00 for the office visit (which was about what I expected) and an additional $250.00 for looking up into my sinuses and another $250.00 for looking all the way to my throat. At no time during the office visit did he indicate that running this tube into my nose was going to cost me an additional $250.00 (each!) or actually that there was any additional fee at all. I really think that's the kind of thing you should mention to a patient. I would *not* have paid that. Fortunately, he was a provider with my PPO so he had to discount the fees down to $415.30, but I still feel cheated that he didn't disclose anything. Other businesses tell you when you are adding a service that it's going to cost more and how much more. It offends me that he just blithely assumed that money didn't matter to me and that he could do whatever he wanted and I would just pay the bill. When I took my daughter to have a broken nose set, it didn't cost any more than this and in comparison, this guy did nothing. I won't be going back to him."

Arthritis about 5 yrs earlier, and my husb. thought maybe it was causing my hearing problems ("your inner ear is made up of little bones, right?"). I was so impressed, and thankful, for Dr Baker's thorough exam, and his explanations for my hearing loss. His audio-test proved a marked decrease in my hearing. I was so pleased with my new hearing aides, and could finally hear what was going on around me, and what was being said. I would definitely refer my friends and family. "
