"I called because I wanted to set up an appointment to speak to someone about allergies. My Aetna member website specifically mentions her being in Allergy and Immunology and Otolaryngic Allergy. I was routed to her office and the receptionist told me that wasn't the case, that she doesn't do allergies. Which is fine- I imagine that's an Aetna issue and nothing to do with the doctor's office. However, when I tried to understand if I was asking the wrong thing because of my confusion borne from the Aetna site, the receptionist was very dismissive of me. Also, after I said that I suppose she wouldn't be able to help me she just hung up the phone before I could thank her for clearing it up. I thought she was rude and not very professional in her phone demeanor as I am someone who does not escalate things, particularly when I'm working with someone who I know is not responsible for the issue. Lastly, I had tried to call before and it seemed someone picked up and then hung up before I could talk. At the time I chalked it up to a mistake, probably with the phone lines as I had been transferred to that number, but now I wonder if there's a pattern. "
