"Dr. Moos made a really good impression when I went in the first time to talk about my options for non-estrogen birth control. He was really nice and explained the whole insertion process and made me feel really comfortable about it. Unfortunately the actual insertion and follow up visit were a different story... My insertion was EXTREMELY painful, and I felt that pain was dismissed by Dr. Moos, and instead of receiving compassion, I felt ridiculed and at fault. Basically he said I was making it worse for myself by not being able to hold still. If my partner had not been there I likely would have had a full blown panic attack and lasting emotional trauma (as is, I'm terrified to have it removed even though its causing me extreme pain 4+ months later). During the follow up visit I felt really dismissed, I talked to Dr. Moos about the pain I was experiencing after physocal activity and was told to come back in a couple months if it was still an issue. After the appointment I reviewed the appointment notes and saw that Dr. Moos had written that I was NOT experiencing pain or discomfort, even thougbi explicitly said that I was. I'm currently trying to track down a different gyno that I feel more comfortable and heard with. I think that if you've had previous IUD's inserted without pain, Dr. Moos might be a good doctor for you, but if you experience complications, I would suggest a different doctor."
