Pediatric nephrology is the medical specialty that diagnoses and treats kidney disorders in children. Pediatric nephrologists interpret scan results and explain them to patients and their families. Once a diagnosis is reached, pediatric nephrologists may prescribe from a variety of treatment options, including:
