"I was a patient of Dr. Kanwar's in Maryland. I was a very sick person when I was referred to him. He took great care of me and brought me back to health. I moved to FL and went to 3 GI docs in Lee and Port Charlotte counties and was disappointed with the doctors knowledge and recommendations for treatment or lack of treatment. I then found Dr. Kanwar relocated to FL and am thrilled. I travel 4+ hours one way to see him and it is absolutely worth it! He is a kind man, well educated, easy to talk to and has care for his patients and treatment he recommends. I feel totally secure again and will move ahead knowing the Dr. Kanwar has my best interest in mind. The staff at his office is very caring, listen, pay attention and seem to be a happy group and I do not feel like I am interrupting their day. Overall it was another fantastic experience with Dr. Kanwar and I look forward to a long professional relationship with him and his staff!!"

What is Internal Medicine (Adult Medicine)?

With additional training, it is also possible for internists to specialize in a more focused area of internal medicine. Internists do not typically perform surgery. Internists can collaborate with many other specialist physicians, including oncologists, neurologists, and cardiologists.
