Gastroenterologist - Fort Lauderdale, FL

"Doctor would not see me prior to colonoscopy. Went ahead with it because it was urgent. After the procedure he talked to me for about 30 seconds, and said he removed something. He said to not make a follow up appointment with him, and instead see his PA. Turns out to be a precancerous polyp, the second time in only a few years. Doctor refused to see me for a follow up appointment, nor would he see me prior to the procedure. He told me to stop eating red meat - I haven't eaten a piece of red meat in 20 years. This was simply a very stupid and idiotic statement from him. This doctor will NOT communicate with you. He is extremely arrogant. I will NEVER go back to see him. "

"Doctor was very uninterested in my case; no physical examination of area in question; in general this doctor seemed to want this appointment to end; obviously this doctor couldn't offer any therapy or advice pertinent to my case. It was a waste of my time and money. There are a lot of gastroenterologist in this area to chose from so avoid this one."

"The waiting room was small and had a musky odor to it. The chairs and couch are uncomfortable. The Front Desk woman who checked patients in seemed so scatter brained. It took her almost 20 minutes to realize that she did not hand me the New Patient forms to fill out. They have ridiculous signs everywhere. About copay's, not sitting on the doctors stool etc. After she collected my copay, she informed me to come straight back. She opens the door for me, I happened to look down and see that she has on scrubs with flip flops. So unprofessional. The MA did not bother even taking my vitals. After about 5 minutes, the doctor comes in, doesn't introduce himself and just starts reviewing everything I checked off on the New patient forms. He sits on his stool with his gaudy gold necklace and collared shirts with a few buttons undone. So tacky. He DISMISSED everything I came to see him for all because I am overweight. Or as he put it 35168 times "big" That is ALL he kept saying. I was going to him because of a sudden symptom which I am 1000% sure has Nothing to do with my size. He just kept saying I was "Too Big" to do Anything for. I walked out the room before I was insulted any further and stormed out of that disgusting office. I will NEVER return and hope no one else gets treated the way I was just because they are overweight"

"Happy with the doctor, he's a good person, very nice man, polite, and listens but I called office for critical imaging results Friday 3pm. Mark the man I wanted to speak with kindly says can u hold? Sure I say. Woman instantly picks up, yells some doctor is on call not Irizzary I say I'm holding for Mark, she says , he just told me to tell you he's gone not here! I quickly say I'm calling for imaging results she yells nobody here! Hangs up! That was highly inappropriate, I find out later that woman was the office manager. I'm disappointed with that moment of service, hopefully it doesn't happen again."

"I went in for Colinospcopy. I was bleeding for four day prior and I had to call several times over 2 day period before I got a call back. Then, when I went in for the procedure, the anesthesiologist tried 4 times before he was finally able to get the IV in. He stuck me twice in the hand and then turned my wrist over. When he tried there, I nearly jumped off the table, screaming in agony. After the procedure, Dr. Botros didn't even have the nerve to tell me the results himself; he sent his nurse in. Horrible experience from beginning to end. I forgot to mention having to wait 1 1/2 hours for my appointment. Nightmare, an absolute nightmare. Take my advice and go to ANY other doctor. "

"They over charged me with my copay even after I told them what my copay was on the Aetna app. The staff isn’t super friendly except one person. The Doctor does not take the time to listen and make you feel rushed as you are trying to explain past health history. Also to think she’s a newer Doctor, you would think she would have more patience and time to care. Which is lacking these days and I know because I work in healthcare. Also getting my $20 back has been such a mission to get and they take from 5-10 minutes just to answer a phone. "
