"Firstly, I was told I would be paying around $350 when I called to make the appointment. The actual cost was about $100 more than that. When the nurse practitioner walked in she didn’t greet me. Her first words were “we’re dealing with chronic sinus issues today”? This was a very poor first interaction. She should have asked me exactly what was going on first. She diagnosed me before even interacting with me. I felt at that point I wouldn’t get the seriousness of the care I needed, and I was right. I told the nurse practitioner that allergy medication was not working for my symptoms. This is important to note because she didn’t offer for a diagnostic test for any sinus infections, instead I was told to go get blood drawn for allergy tests. While I was checking out with the receptionist, the nurse aid popped up at the front desk and asked me if I wanted steroids prescribed. This was very unprofessional because, I wasn’t given options of medication to choose from; and I’m patient, not a medical provider, I’m not sure what steroids would really do, I just needed for the symptoms to subside. Why ask me if I want steroids? I should have been given options of medication while in the exam room on what types of medications would be good for me, not confronting me at the receptionist desk in front of other patients to ask me if I want steroids. When I got home I looked up the implications of the steroids prescribed, and I found out it was for people with severe allergies. Now, why would the nurse practitioner offer me this after I already told her allergy medications were not working for me? I’m still here days later after my appointment suffering from symptoms that I spent over $400 to get relief from. The nurse practitioner did not order a blood draw examination for an infection particularly, she stuck a camera up my nose for 5 seconds, costing me $200+, just to tell me that she saw one nostril was different from another and ordered a CT scan. This was horrible medical care! I didn’t get to see the doctor only a nurse practitioner who clearly needs more training. The nurse aid who saw me before the nurse practitioner did should not have asked me at the receptionist desk while I was checking out, if I wanted steroids, this should have been asked of me in the examination room to not risk HIPPA violations. The entire experience was horrible! "
