Obstetricians and Gynecologists - Boca Raton, FL

"For over six weeks I have attempted to get a prescription refilled for HRT cream that I have been using for 6+ years by calling this office 3 to 4 times every week, leaving countless messages that went unanswered. Plus a few mysterious phone line disconnects where I would have to call back and explain myself over and over again. I do not see Dr. Cueto for my office visits, I see the NP, Heather Ahren, who simply would not call me back. They even scheduled 3 tele visits and Heather did not show up or call. I was told that calls were made to me, and most assuredly, I received NO call backs from anyone on the staff. On 12/18/23 I finally had to physically go to this office to find out why I was being ignored and to get my mammogram results that I requested many times. While in their office I was told I needed blood work done so I gave blood and they took my BP. The next day Caitlin (an admin) was kind enough to be the only responsive person there, called to tell me that Ms. Ahren's would not renew my prescription because my BP was considered high. Probably due to my angst from the lack of compassion from this office as high BP is not the norm for me and I have no history of BP issues of any kind. I last saw Ms. Ahren's on Sept 7, 2023 for my annual checkup, when she told me that due to my "taking a puff off of a friends cigar back in June" that I needed to wait six months for my HRT cream refill which means November 2023 and then she would simply call in my refill to the pharmacy. She said there would be no need to come back in for a follow up, no mention of blood work needed nor my BP level as a prerequisites to getting the script refilled. During this excruciating 6 weeks time I learned that this office no longer takes AetnaCVS and I'm forced to find a new OB, which I'm more than happy to do, or I can have my PCP send them a note stating that I'm okay to get the prescription that I have been using for several years which would require me to schedule an appt with my PCP and likely a new OB. All of which will take several weeks to secure. All of this could have been avoided if someone in this office had some sense of urgency and compassion for the patients they serve. I will never understand this level of unprofessionalism and lack of common courtesy. Very disappointing, extremely disheartening."

She will even take time out of her day to make a personal call to make sure her patient is doing ok... The office staff is always professional and caring as well and there is never a long wait to be seen."

"I have been going to Dr. Silfen for over 20 years. He delivered 2 of my children and has held my hand through pregnancy loss, infertility and a few medical scares. He is very high energy. However he is also calm in an emergency. He is super picky in how the office looks and how his patients are treated at the office and in the hospital. The delivery nurse may be worried that your doc is Silfen, but you will get great care and attentiveness because of him. "
