"We reached out to John back in Oct/Nov 2022 to work on improving my relationship with my son. John did not take long to discover my son had strange resentment towards me and was never able to articulate any reasons why. I kept explaining to John that this is a clear cut case of parental alienation: My son's mother has a history of mental illness/alienation - was alienated from her mother age 10-30 (I was present when they met for the first time after 20 yrs). She has repeated her parental alienation 3 times in her adult life, most recently with my son and I. This should be a no-brainer for a therapist! There are countless articles everywhere if you look that detail how traditional therapy only makes things WORSE in cases of parental alienation. I would would have expected John to be aware of this. When I explained her history it did not phase him. John just now recommended "as needed" therapy for my son, yet back when we bought my son to John I HAD a relationship with him. Now he hardly talks/looks at me. I've done nothing. I fear John has made things worse vs. better. "
