Primary Care Doctors - Hayward, CA

"I recently moved from SF to Hayward, and Dr. Chen was listed as one of the top suggested Aetna doctors in my area, so I was excited. When I called, the receptionist asked me a *lot* of intake questions around my personal information, detailed insurance information, and the medical reasons I need a doctor. I assumed these were intake questions because they seemed like standard new patient questions. Then ... the receptionist then said he needed to "check" if they had any new appointment spots, for new patients, and he would "try" to text me if they could see me as a new patient. I never was contacted back. What the heck!? Why all the personal + medical information if I was not actually a new patient. At the very least this seems highly inappropriate, and at the most, possibly illegal. Something shady is going on. I think possible discrimination."

"Office staff can improve a great deal imo. Is it really that hard to tighten up your scheduling. Several times i was told to come in and waited at least 40+mins. This is really my only gripes but a very big deal to some. Time is money. I will talk to the main-man and let the doc know this needs to get fixed. Dr. Gacote is a cool dude. Very receptive and gives clear directions. Easy to open up to and ask question so you will never embarrassed or feel judge. Most importantly imo he is a great doctor. Really that is what you come for when you visit a hospital and clinic. "

"I was calling this lady office 19 x in a 3 week period. Telling her how much pain I was in. I was misdiagnosed by a friend of hers, and she also did no eval of her own. I had an ovarian torsion, and many broken ribs. Surgery revealed, I almost tore a ligament out of the socket, due to the issue going on for as long as it did. She refused pain meds, and ignored my er hospital visits, despite her office calling and asking where I had gone, so they could follow up on what was wrong with me. She did literally, less than nothing and ‘plays’ stupid. Educated not in the states, and clueless….steer clear."
