"I am 74 years old and wanted to establish care with a UCSD affiliated doctor. After two days of online research, I chose Sheri Cameron, MD. I called and was given a phone appointment the next day. As a new patient, I was impressed that she had already researched me and my chief complaint (painful finger joints.) She listened, asked questions, and asked for photos. She made referrals the very next day and I saw an orthopedic surgeon two weeks later who drained one Heberden node and gave me injections for immediate relief. Further, she gave me rerrals to a hand specialist, cardiologist, dermatologist, and an endocrinologist. She also ordered labs which were done in her office. I made an in person appointment for my annual wellness exam onlt three weeks after we established care. I found her to be very pleasant, thorough, and responsive. I am also very impressed with the patient portals (Perlman Clinic and UCSD) who linked with my records from Scripps and Sharp. I do have Medicare AND a PPO (excellent insurance,) and that makes it easier. My prior PCP of 25 years retired. I chose Dr. Cameron because she is young but experienced. I plan to live another 25 years, and I hope she will be my PCP at least that long. The three different people at reception seemed indifferent. The desk was vacant when I entered. After a few minutes a young man came in and sat down without acknowledging me. When he did, it was only to ask if i hdmad an appointment. No greeting. He gave me a form to complete, even though i had completed it online. It was in Spanish, when i clearly speak English. A young woman came in who showed him where to verify my completed form and showed me four questions I still needed to answer. I asked for an English for. She looked annoyed and didnt apologize. She left and another young lady came in. When i turned in the form, she informed me that there were several blank pages. I waited to see if the young man would catch her up, but he stayed mute. I said oh, she wasn't there. I expected her to ask the young man, but she just stared at me like i was the one who was dense. When i repeated that I had completed it on line, she didn't apologize or acknowledge the confusion. It's a tiny office so I thought the staff would be more friendly. Btw, i didn't feel the needle stick for the blood draw at all. Perfect execution! Bravo!"

"How do you thank someone who saved my life by going out on a limb at a critical moment? When Dr. Korn diagnosed me with Crohns Disease at age 22 in 1972 little did I know just how devoted Dr. Korn is to his patients. Months later I would find myself in the ER at the local hospital, bleeding profusely through the rectal area. Crohns had perforated an artery leaving me with an extremely low blood count. Dr. Korn stood his ground while supporting my moral decisions regarding treatment. His efforts to support me, his efforts to stand firm on trying a new procedure to aid my body in producing new red cells led to my recovery after a 21 day stay in the hospital. Dr. Korn has been at my side thru four operations over the course of my life. My faith in him and his medical skills has seen me though 51 years of battling Crohn's Disease.His guidance, skills, advice has supported me through continual ups and downs. Throughout my liife as a Crohnie, I THANK Dr. Korn for always being there for me. He has never let me down, told me things I was afraid to hear, told me point blank that life with Crohn's would be hard, would be unknown as I aged. All I know is without Dr Korn I would not have reached the age of 73. Dr. Korn is a man of integrity, a skilled physician, an opened minded human being. He stood tall when he took my life into his hands. You cannot ask anymore of a dedicated physician who not only treats the body but treats the mind as well.
