"I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Lucia Kim August. I chose her because she claimed to be familiar with the relationship model challenges that my partner and I faced. For several years (roughly 10 sessions per month) she provided a safe space for us to interact at a time when my partner was prone to volatility. This was something that any therapist could have offered. However, Ms. August never did add value to the sessions as a therapist purportedly familiar with our challenges. In fact, she rarely spoke at all. Nor did she take notes in our presence. As I was to learn later, she maintained no notes whatsoever. When Ms. August was caught off-guard by a third party and inadvertently disclosed our personal information to said third party, I no longer felt safe with her. There is no coming back from that breach of trust and it seemed like a good time to cut the cord on what had become an unsatisfying client/therapist relationship. When I didn't message to check her availability for the following week (as was our norm), I never heard from her again. Given the close timing with the privacy breach, I can only assume that she did the math. Please note that this therapist did not contract with insurance providers and was strictly cash-only. In hindsight, I consider the experience the best 10K I ever wasted. "
