"I am fortunate to be one of Dr. Wahba’s first patients when he came to Bakersfield. That’s was about seven years ago. He actually listens and hears what I have to say. I have had chronic back pain for many years before becoming a patient of his. He helps me to make my life better with helping to manage my pain. He is kind, friendly and he cares for his patients. The wait to see him for your appointment is never very long. Never do I feel like I am one of many. During my appointed time I know I am number one. He is one of the best doctors I have ever had. "Dr Arturo Palencia and his staff at Stockdale Surgery Center are great . I would them recommend to my own family. I have been in pain management of one form or another for 24 years since double spinal fusion in 1999 . I had a first generation spinal cord stimulator in the early 2000s , but had to have it removed due to insurance issues in 2008 . Every other Dr. since told me that I wasn't a candidate for a new spinal cord stimulator due to old hardware and scar tissue in the spinal column blocking the way. I came to Dr Palencia on the recommendation of my other pain Dr , and didn't really expect much . I am happy to say my doubts were unfounded. Dr Palencia actually took the time to pinpoint the sources of my pain , spent time with me in thorough discussion of my pain and history. He developed a plan of attack and we went for it as quickly as insurance red tape allow . He is direct and clear , to the point. Looked me in the eye when he spoke to me . He said he thought it was possible. Andrew Pelle from Boston Scientific worked with him for the tricky surgery, dealing with the old hardware still inside my spinal column and having to work around it . The surgery itself was a breeze , Dr Palencia has his Stockdale Surgery Center in the same building as his Pain Institute of Central California offices, so it is safer , cleaner and easier than a hospital. He has state of the art equipment and a happy staff . The neurostimulator is in now and working wonderfully . My pain is the least in years .
