Family Medicine practitioners - Alhambra, CA

"I just moved back to L.A. and I have a new insurance and let me say, what a NIGHTMARE! I just want to do a physical and they told me Justin L. Chan wasn't available so I figure anyone would do it and they gave me this doctor call Zhu. NEW DOCTOR and of course he doesn't know how to take care his patients. The visit WAS VERY VERY RUSH ! In and out only 10 minutes and I didn't even have time to ask him questions. He didn't come off friendly and was a mess. Luckily I have experienced with doing a physical and things I need to do to prep for my labs. ( Not eating the 8 or 12 hours) NO ONE MENTIONED to me that I should be doing that until I question them if I should be fasting or not. It was my first time here and it will be my last! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!"

"I’ve been with Dr Mercado for 2 years. Although she is a caring and intelligent doctor who takes her time with patients, I cannot justify the coming back as a patient due to the extremely disorganized staff. I was told to come in a week prior to my annual exam for blood work, which I did. However, when I showed up for my annual exam the office had no idea where my blood/bloodwork was. This meant I had to come back to have it redrawn. However, when I showed up to get my blood drawn again, the o phlebotomist told me my bloodwork results were in my chart! Why did the office not call and notify me the results were found? And on top of this, I then had to schedule ANOTHER appointment to go over the results with Dr. Mercado, which constitutes a copay, even though it should’ve been included in my annual exam. In total, I had visited the office/lab 4 times in 4 weeks. Additionally, Dr. Mercado ordered me a vaccine. It had been a couple months and I hadn’t heard from the office, so I called and asked if the vaccine had arrived. The receptionist rudely told me they’d call me when it arrived, without asking me for my information and then hung up on me. Fast forward a year and I still hadn’t received a call or my vaccine. Needless to say, this office is super disorganized. Don’t come here unless you want to waste your time. "
