"During my initial evaluation for PTSD, Dr. Werb told me I would need to stop taking my ADHD medication until I was retested by him, which could involve being on a waitlist for up to a year. He did not read my previous ADHD diagnosis nor did he discuss my career with me. He still told me he didn’t believe I had ADHD because ‘what happens is intelligent women with successful careers will make it so far and be unable to handle it so they claim ADHD.’ I filed a complaint stating I wasn’t comfortable with a psychiatrist who made diagnosis decisions based off my sex and nothing else. Despite offering to be retested and stop taking my medication, I was then refused service at the practice and told it was because I had a previous ADHD diagnosis. Very upsetting after waiting over 6 months to get into to this practice, really needing help, and now having to wait to get in elsewhere because I disagreed with being Dr. Werb making my diagnosis based on misogynistic perceptions."

"Dr. Caridad refused me treatment at his practice. I had waited 6 months to get in, had a terrible appointment with the assigned psychiatrist and filed a complaint about it. Without reading my prior ADHD diagnosis or discussing my career with me, the Dr told me that I would need to stop taking my medication because he didn’t believe I had ADHD because what happens is ‘intelligent women with successful careers will make it so far and not be able to handle it so they claim they have ADHD’. Dr. Caridad took weeks to get back to me on my complaint and being rescheduled with someone else. He then refused me treatment at his practice stating no psychiatrist will see me because I have previous ADHD diagnosis. He still did not cancel my follow up apt with this Dr as I asked. There is an $85 no show fee, so I followed up to make sure it was cancelled and then received a letter from Dr Caridad stating I had self-discharged myself from their care, when they had actually refused me service."
